The Stirring Warmup from Winter (1991–1994) - Despite a barren environment for any b-boying culture to thrive, true bboys remained faithful to the art and kept on. And its them who would be responsible for the Revival in America. And even though b-boying had been scarce in America, Europe never really experienced a Winter Season. Eventually this just had to result in a spark that would lead to a revival of bboyism into everyday life in America. But first, all the True Skoolers (old & new) would have to get it all together and gather to help jumpstart it all...
1991:

Battle Of The Year 1991 (originally called "The Battle"), the first competition of this event, takes place in Germany, at the Pavilion (Lister Meile 4, 30161 Hannover), 7pm-Midnight, a two-day event.
May-late
After winning Battle Of The Year 1991, the European crew Battle Squad use their prize money to arrive in NYC to seek out bboy legends, where they meet up with Kwikstep five days later. Soon they are united with other legends/pioneers. -->{NOTE: This contradiction is up for question, since in the biography section of his own website Storm says that he met one of the pioneers the very first day he arrived}??

July
Ken Swift comes out of retirement and back into the b-boying game after Mr. Wiggles (who never stopped dancing during the Winter Era), and Maurizio (from Italy & of Battle Squad), re sparked his fervor.
November 23
RSC and Rhythm Technicians perform in the play they created "SO! WHAT HAPPENS NOW?" for the first time, at the Performance Space 122 (150 First Ave & 9th St, NYC 10009), which is a dance-theater piece about the struggles and triumphs of street dancers from New York ghettos, and considered by some to be the first Hip Hop theatre production in America.
November 26
In a New York Times article (section-C, p.13) entitled, "Nurturing Onstage the Moves Born on the Ghettos' Streets", NY Times dance critic Jennifer Dunning declares that b-boying is "an art as demanding and inventive as mainstream dance forms like ballet and jazz."...This was her coverage of the dance-theatre production "SO! WHAT HAPPENS NOW?" which played last Saturday (11/23/91).
December 8
The RockSteady Crew & Rhythm Technicians perform at the Kennedy Center Honors (nighttime, at the Opera House of the Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts, Washington DC) which is honoring the Nicholas Brothers. They also later meet Gene Kelly backstage.
December 26
On TV at 9pm (EST), CBS airs the 12/8/91 Kennedy Center Honors night that featured the RSC & RT.

This month's issue of "THE SOURCE" magazine features an article entitled "Chicago: The City That Revived Break dancing".

Battle Of The Year 1992 finalizes its BOTY name & puts on a second competition in Germany. (city? venue? times?). Battle Squad (Swiftrock & Storm) return this year to the event & win.

"THE SOURCE" magazine has another report about the Hip Hop old skool revival (the Bay Area).

The first mainstream movie spotlighting Capoeira, ONLY THE STRONG, comes out.
